Program Description

Event Details

Big Red was not always BIG, not always RED, and not always a LIGHTHOUSE. Maritime Historian, author and museum designer Valerie van Heest reveals the true story of Michigan’s most photographed lighthouse, the efforts to save it from demolition, and the reasons it is today a functioning navigational aid yet off limits to the public.  Valerie’s latest book further ILLUMINATES this topic and the evolution of Great Lakes lighthouses. Book sales and signing will follow the event.

Program location is at the Georgetown Connections Senior Center, no need to be a member there to attend this event.
